mangavalkandClaude Opus 5.5 abd63d070f Tests against lost bytes in dense frames
- test_nano: every hex digit of B data is one drawDots() call, never single
drawPixel() calls (the slow path that broke dense images in 2.19.2)
- tools/display_smoke_test.py: all yellow, a dense image and a checkerboard
in live mode on the real display; fails on any frame check problem (wrong
image, no answer, Nano restart, ERR reply)

mangavalkandClaude Opus 5.5 a6b946e17c Weather forecast page, 16 elements per page, attribute paths, examples from the display
- Home Assistant attributes can be paths into lists (forecast.1.condition).
- Date elements can show a day ahead (day offset 0-7).
- Pages hold 16 elements (page format 6; the old formats are frozen at 8).
Pages are reset in place (clearPage), not through a 4 KB temporary.
- Verwachting page: today (icon, temperature, max/min) and the next 2
  days with 7 x 7 icons (weer7 <condition>), from a template sensor
  (docs/home-assistant.md).
- examples/home-pages.json is exported from the display with all pages
and their icons, private entity id parts replaced by placeholders
  (tools/export_examples.py replaces tools/make_example_pages.py).

mangavalkandClaude Opus 5.5 ab001e5d18 Icons: small images of their own size for pages
Bitmaps that only pages use (backgrounds, images by state) are now icons:
own width and height, stored in /icons, not in the page lists or the Home
Assistant dropdowns. Page backgrounds and image elements use icons or
bitmaps; the renderer gets icons expanded at the top left, so pages look
the same. Web UI: Icons tab with an editor, Make icon / Make bitmap, Save
as icon on the Draw tab, icons in the backup.

A one-time migration in time-boxed steps moves the uploaded bitmaps that
only pages use, after the new firmware is marked good.

mangavalkandClaude Opus 5.5 490cefc360 Home Assistant requests in a task, progress bar, Plex page, bitmap cache
- net/ha_api: the HTTP requests run in a FreeRTOS task on core 0; loop()
only hands over copies through queues. The web UI's test button polls.
No more 3-4 s loop() stalls once a minute; timeout raised to 5 s.
- Progress bar page element (page format 4, v3 pages are converted)
- Plex user setting (settings v6): {plex_user} in entity ids
- Plex page (examples): watchers, play/pause icon, title, progress
- Bitmaps cached in RAM: a LittleFS read took ~100 ms on every render
and web preview; long JSON lists sent in 2 KB pieces
- Backup includes the refresh settings and the Plex user

mangavalkandClaude Opus 5.5 58a7cb03c2 Split the README into docs/ pages, add web UI screenshots
- README is the overview; web UI, pages, Home Assistant, how it works,
wiring, Nano over WiFi and the recovery app have their own page in docs/.
- docs/web-ui.md has a screenshot of every tab, made with headless Edge by
  tools/make_webui_screenshots.py.
- The web UI opens a page in the editor with #pages/<name>. Version 2.7.2.
- The reply wire is fitted (flashing the Nano over WiFi works).

mangavalkandClaude Opus 5.5 e991210ce6 Add pictures of all dynamic pages to the README
tools/make_page_screenshots.py asks the ESP32 to draw every page (with the
current Home Assistant values) and writes them as PNG in the style of the web
UI's live view to Pictures/pages/.

mangavalkandClaude Opus 5.5 89001ddbc6 Add example pages for this home: weather, day and night, energy, 3D printer, indoor climate, usage, big clock, date, countdown, stopwatch

mangavalkandClaude Opus 5.5 fc6fa1a180 Add scrolling, countdown, stopwatch, images, seconds, multiplier and degree sign
- Text elements can scroll in a window at a set speed; clock, countdown and
stopwatch can show seconds. Moving pages are sent as instant frames (new
Nano command D1) and paced by the estimated flip time.
- Countdown to a date and time (smart, days, days + time, with seconds),
stopwatch (web UI, HA switch and reset button), image element (fixed or
by Home Assistant state), multiplier for HA values, degree sign (char 127)
in all fonts and the font converter.
- Page format version 2; version 1 pages are converted.

mangavalkandClaude Opus 5.5 0411804a2f Add dynamic pages with clock, date, Home Assistant values and fonts
The hardcoded clock is now the built-in dynamic page "Clock". A dynamic page
has a background bitmap per time of day and up to 8 elements (clock, date,
Home Assistant value, text), each with position, alignment, font and overlay.
Pages are drawn on the ESP32, also for the web previews.

- Pages tab in the web UI: page editor with drag and drop, font upload
(TTF/OTF converted in the browser to the FDF1 dot font format)
- Built-in fonts Small, Normal, Large and Full height (generated by
tools/make_builtin_fonts.py), built-in bitmaps Pikachu and Pikachu yawning
- Home Assistant values over the REST API (URL and token in the HA tab)
- Settings version 4: evening settings removed (now time slots of the Clock
  page), old records are converted
- HA Mode dropdown lists the dynamic pages and bitmaps

mangavalkandClaude Opus 5.5 683a47c055 Restructure ESP32 firmware into modules, fix bugs, add tests
Structure (src/esp32/):
- logic/: DisplayController, schedule, power timer, LED pattern; pure C++
- display/: FlipdotFrames and bitmaps
- nano_link/: NanoLink (relay, serial, READY, bootloader) and flash bridge
- net/: WiFi/OTA/panic window, Home Assistant
- config.h with all settings; libs.h (globals in a header) removed

Bug fixes:
- Home Assistant switches now report their state back and start as ON
- loop() no longer blocks: WiFi.waitForConnectResult() (up to 60 s
without WiFi) and getLocalTime() (5 s before NTP sync) were called
  every iteration
- Power switch off now powers off after 1 s even when a 30 s countdown
  is already running
- millis() overflow safe power-off timer; no frame catch-up bursts
- No garbage time string before NTP sync; 'Connecting...' stays instead
- Frames are only sent when the screen changes instead of every second
- Reset reasons are logged once instead of every 100 ms
- Removed dead code (unused fonts, WiFiMulti, rotated bitmap, ...)

Tests: new test_esp32 environment (26 tests); native renamed to test_nano

mangavalkandClaude Opus 5.5 cefb76c1ad Support both Nano bootloaders for flashing over WiFi
- Uploader sends 'FLASH <baud>' first; the ESP32 restarts the Nano and
bridges at that baud rate, then answers OK
- --baud=auto (default) tries 57600 (old ATmegaBOOT) then 115200 (Optiboot)
- Optional nano_reset GPIO (NPN to Nano RESET) pulses reset after power
on, needed for Optiboot which skips the bootloader after a power cycle
- Clear errors for outdated ESP32 firmware and missing wires
- README: bootloader table, reset wire, troubleshooting

mangavalkandClaude Opus 5.5 bea5b9daa1 Flash the Nano over WiFi through the ESP32
- ESP32: NanoFlashBridge on TCP port 2323. A connection power cycles the
Nano into its bootloader and bridges TCP <-> Serial2 at 57600 baud; the
clock pauses during the session, 10 s idle timeout
- tools/nano_net_upload.py: STK500v1 uploader over TCP (standard library
only), with sync retries, write and read-back verification. avrdude 6.3
net: ports are broken on Windows, so avrdude is not used
- New nano_ota environment: pio run -e nano_ota -t upload
- README: usage, requirements, troubleshooting; TODO for hardware test
