ddouthitt ae18a158fc Numerous (TINY) fixes: mostly unused variables... 2001-10-05 22:04:35 +00:00
ddouthitt 39b84431a0 Added a heartbeat function to the driver code. Both the
MatrixOrbital driver and the curses driver now have their own
heartbeat functions.

ddouthitt 49dd9207d7 Added new driver:
* lcdm001 (with updates to autoconfig and Makefiles)
2001-10-01 21:51:27 +00:00
ddouthitt dcea08d3fa Bug caught by Robin Adams <robin@adams-online.de> where
getkey was not being checked for spurious nulls after driver
initialization. Turns out getinfo was in the same category.
Both: fixed.
2001-09-28 21:29:23 +00:00
ddouthitt 74153173c1 Fixed major bug: drivers that accepted size arguments could wind
up with more than 80 characters (20x4) in their display, and thus
overwrite memory outside of the allocated 80 characterwframebuffer.

For example, using a 20x6 screen would do this.

All drivers now either ignore a missing framebuffer, or allocate it
themselves - the latter is prefered.

ddouthitt 71c3035611 * Changed MatrixOrbital driver to support the traditional -t option
(for type: 20x2, 20x4, 20x6) etc.

* Fixed bug that appeared when using a size larger than 80 characters
  (20x4): framebuffer was allocated before size was known!

Drivers should NOT look for framebuffer to be allocated before they
start - but 80 characters are there anyway (for now).

ddouthitt eb6e99e7e8 Server no longer uses a fixed lcd structure, but now a pointer to
a lcd_logical_driver structure (lcd_ptr).  Fixed bug in lcd.c
which caused lcd_drv_getkey_loop to act badly.

ddouthitt 46003178df Updated lcd.c:
* Now preliminary support for SVGAlib driver and T6963 driver
  won't interfere with proper compilation.
2001-09-26 20:36:24 +00:00
ddouthitt cf0990c28a Updated lcd.c:
* Added preliminary support for a Toshiba T6963 driver.
* Fixed a bug in the driver_list function which caused some
  unpretty output...

ddouthitt 9e3b973905 Updated lcd.c:
* Now supports multiple input sources
* Further compartmentalized
* Added function to list drivers in nice format (for help screen)
* More bulletproofing

ddouthitt fda1f15520 Updated lcd.c to support multiple input drivers. Drivers themselves
do not change. Output only goes to the first driver specified.
2001-09-26 14:57:13 +00:00
ddouthitt 31d9cc98c0 Added support for the new svga driver into lcd.c;
however, the Makefiles will need to be modified to support
linking against libvga and libvgagl, and support for the SVGALIB_DRV
define will have to be added to autoconf or whatever.

ddouthitt 1d59e67b69 lcd.c: Making preparations to enable multiple input sources... 2001-09-25 06:21:07 +00:00
ddouthitt 4b24b2e6f1 Patched lcd.c to work with older drivers that use 0 or (void *) -1
as valid function pointer values (now logs to syslog); fixed text
driver, curses driver, and CFontz driver to work correctly in new
environment.
2001-09-25 00:13:57 +00:00
ddouthitt 875ee72589 Major change was to convert from multiple drivers to a single driver.
Other minor things: comments, more robust MtxOrb driver, and more use
of syslog.
2001-09-24 22:33:59 +00:00
ddouthitt f23292a554 Minor miscellaneous comment updates: mostly identifying drivers at
the top of their source code....
2001-09-24 16:30:31 +00:00
afrob 2e654fd333 Added driver for SED1520 graphic LCDs, STV5730 TV Output plus a small fix for render.c for bigger display sizes 2001-09-22 11:45:12 +00:00
ddouthitt 6a0e23dc3e Massive changes (first commit), including but not limited to:
* Ability to specify port and address to bind to
* By default, binds only to 127.0.0.1 port 13666
* Client commands now return usage when no options given
* New driver command: getinfo
* Added comments all over the place
* Used #defines to further document code
* Used #defines to set up compile-time defaults, etc.
* Cleaned up client command argument analysis in client_functions.c
* Beginning support of syslog
* Some bug fixes

ppokorny 00cc9fca23 + Changed protocol to 0.3 because we now accept both -foo and foo
as argument introducers. in 0.4-pre10, these were changed
   from foo to -foo and this broke many clients. This change
   should fix that and be backward/forward compatible.
 + Added a noop function to the protocol. This is useful for writing
   shell script clients of LCDproc.
 + Changed the shared sock_send_string function to NOT send the
   ending NUL ('\0') byte with the string. This was confusing
   in Perl clients which saw NUL's as the first character of
   each reply. WARNING: The LCDPROC client depended on this
   behavior, your client may too. Use the newline instead.
   See the code in clients/lcdproc/main.c (look for "switch(buf[i])")
   to see one way to handle this. This should allow new clients
   to connect to old servers and vice-versa.
 + Messed with include structure in .c files. It should no longer
   be necessary to specify ../.. to get to shared code headers.
   Also, since we are using automake, the global config.h can be
   found with just #include "config.h" as it's location is included
   in a -I to the compilers. As a result "make distcheck" now works.

ppokorny 877d8ac8e8 Added GLK12232-25SM support with glk driver.
Fixed lots of small problems in various places.
Added new protocol commands screen_add/del_key so screens
   can request keystrokes when they are being displayed.
Lots of work on CPU GRAPH and BIG NUMBER CLOCK screens.
Fixed 'output' function in MtxOrb.c

William Ferrell 6c8a77ccc5 Applied Nathan Yawn's (natey@hcis.net) patch to add a driver for the BayRAD
display. The patch applied cleanly, and compiled properly. At least,
"it worked for me." :) I don't have such a display, thus I cannot test that
the driver actually works, but it at least doesn't do nasty things or break
the compile. Thanks, Nathan!

William Ferrell 82764f08e3 Thanks to Chris Debenham <chris.debenham@aus.sun.com>, the LCDproc server
process LCDd now compiles and runs properly on Solaris! Additionally, he
has provided a new driver for a 16x2 LCD made by an Australian company.

I've compiled and executed this new code on a Solaris 2.6 box, and while I
don't have the display the new driver uses, LCDd tries to use it anyway,
fails (since the device isn't installed), and continues running, so this
looks solid!

William Ferrell ddfd41f53e More formatting updates. Reduced whitespace, looks even better. 2000-03-30 20:43:33 +00:00
William Ferrell f5a5e9653b Removed lcddriver.c (doesn't do anything, isn't in any makefiles, etc.).
Passed *every* piece of source in this project through indent. I'm setting
things up with ctags soon and am actually going to *gasp* use a nice
programming environment to continue development in. :)

William Ferrell 1f0e4679ab Applied Bjorn Andersson's autoconf/automake patch. LCDproc is now built
with the standard "./autogen.sh && ./configure && make && make install"
instead of just tweaking the Makefile and typing "make".
