robijn 75cd8a1112 - Modified forking. Child will now signal parent when it has started up OK. Only after that (or error) parent dies. 
- Modified startup order of LCDd parts.
- Moved code for starting up the socket from main.c to sock.c
- Variable daemon_mode renamed to foreground_mode, consistent with command line.
- Variable lcd_port renamed to bind_port.
- Modified the constant stay_in_foreground for drivers hd44780 and sed1330. They don't need to stay in foreground anymore.

dglaude 5dbbae1c47 This is the porting of CwLnx driver from 0.4.4 to 0.5 
It is working with both USB and Serial version of the LCD
The heartbeat is currently 3 pixels blinking...
And there might be more cleaning needed in the code.

diff_ignore could be used to ignore some file from a recursive diff.
acinclude.m4 and Makefile.am are for CwLinux driver.

reenoo fa1adf7317 Fixed rotate_server_screen. 
The ServerScreen option in LCDd.conf and the -i command line parameter were parsed in server/main.c, but the value of rotate_server_screen was not respected in server/serverscreens.[c,h].

robijn c72f813a4c Changed things around port.h a bit: 
- port_access_full is now called port_access_multiple and has a count parameter (LPT port stuff should be in lpt-port.h)
- Updated calling source files too
- Added support for ports in higher range, so that PCI LPT cards will work too (but I can't test this myself...)
- Enhanced formatting of in-file documentation a bit
- Updated docs of port.h in lcdproc-dev

robijn 71922063b8 Change to priority classes. Will probably require some fixings. 
- Now using priority classes internally and in protocol
- Converting (depreciated) priorty numbers to the classes BACKGROUND,
  INFO and FOREGROUND
- Added menu_goto command (only works when menu not active)

- Now using CHAIN in stead of ESSENTIAL #define
- Changed naming of report* local variables
- Modified -s -f and -i options to accept boolean to be able to disable them too.

1) added the USB-specific open() code (removed O_NDELAY)
2) added the speed 19200
3) fixed the contrast code
4) uncommented out the special character translation
The latter three were reported to list Dec 2002 by Jay Wardle

robijn dc619e596f - Moved some code from main.c to screenlist.c 
- Implemented reloading by sending SIGHUP.
- Now doing 'real 8Hz' rendering and 32Hz input processing.
- Removed noscreen feature (that we rejected).
